This lovely "J. Lancaster & Son" "Instantograph" camera is, I believe, the original model from 1882.
Made by the renowned optician and camera makers J Lancaster and Sons of Birmingham, UK.
It is made of Honduran mahogany with brass fittings.
The camera bears three enamel plaques, one has Instantograph another has "J. Lancaster & Son, Birmingham" and the third has " St. Brides Store, 86, Fleet Street, E.C., London Agents", the lettering is still clear and legible, although the retail plaque has a little damage.
